Day 6: Breakfast with Jesus
Devotional Thought
After all the miracles... after the resurrection... after the doubts and the fear... what does Jesus do next? He makes breakfast.
This simple moment by the Sea of Galilee reveals something profound: Jesus cares deeply about both your soul and your humanity. He meets His disciples not in the temple or the synagogue, but by a fire on the shore. He prepares a meal, serves it with love, and creates space for restoration.
Peter had denied Jesus three times. The other disciples had scattered. Yet here they are, invited to the table—not just forgiven, but welcomed. Jesus didn’t just conquer death; He reinstates relationship. And He does it through something as simple and sacred as a shared meal.
Resurrection life is not only spiritual—it’s deeply personal. Jesus wants to restore what feels broken. He wants to nourish what feels empty. And sometimes, He does it through the small moments: a meal, a conversation, an invitation to come close again.
When Jesus says, “Come and have breakfast,” He’s saying: Come and be restored. Come and know you’re still loved. Come and let me feed you—body and soul.
Reflection Points
1. What does this moment teach you about the heart and character of Jesus?
2. How do you imagine Jesus would invite you to “come and eat” today in your life situation?
3. Are there areas in your life that feel unworthy of restoration? What would it look like to let Jesus meet you there?
Practical Applications
1. Share a meal with Jesus
Set aside time today to eat one meal in silence and gratitude, reflecting on Christ’s presence at your table.
2. Invite someone to the table
Share a coffee, a meal, or a conversation with someone who needs encouragement or a reminder of Jesus’ love.
3. Write a prayer of restoration
Ask Jesus to restore areas of your life where you feel distant, ashamed, or tired. Be honest. He already has the fire going.
