Day 4: Peace Be With You

Apr 24, 2025

Devotional Thought

Locked doors. Fearful hearts. Confused minds. That was the emotional landscape of the disciples after the crucifixion. Despite the rumors of resurrection, they were still paralyzed by fear. And then Jesus—alive, victorious, resurrected—walked into their hiding place and spoke the words their souls longed to hear: “Peace be with you.”

Jesus didn’t scold them for locking the doors. He didn’t criticize their fear. He simply came— through locked spaces, through emotional walls—and spoke peace. That’s what the resurrected Jesus still does. He enters your most anxious moments and brings the calm of His presence.

Peace isn’t the absence of trouble; it’s the presence of Christ. In fact, it was His presence that transformed the atmosphere in that room. The same risen Savior who walked into their fear walks into yours. He comes bearing peace—not just a feeling, but a spiritual reality that anchors your soul.

If you’re wrestling with anxiety, doubt, or fear today, you’re not disqualified from resurrection life. In fact, you’re the perfect candidate for an encounter. Let the Prince of Peace step into the places you’ve closed off. He doesn’t need your door open—just your heart.

Reflection Points

1. What “locked doors” exist in your heart right now—places closed off due to fear, doubt, or shame?

2. How does it change your perspective to realize that Jesus comes into your fear, rather than waiting for you to overcome it first?

3. What does the peace of Christ feel like or look like in your life when you experience it?

Practical Applications

1. Name your fear

Write down one fear or anxiety you’re carrying today. Bring it into prayer and invite Jesus to speak peace into it.

2. Create space for peace

Turn off your phone for 15 minutes, sit in silence, and simply breathe the words: “Jesus, speak peace over me.”

3. Be a peace-bearer

Send a message of encouragement or pray for someone you know who is walking through fear or uncertainty right now.
