Day 8: Go and Tell
Devotional Thought
Jesus didn’t just rise from the dead—He rose with a mission. The resurrection wasn’t the end of the story; it was the beginning of a global movement. And His first act as the risen King was to commission His followers: “Go and tell the world.”
This is the Great Commission—not a suggestion, but a calling. Jesus doesn’t just save us; He sends us. He empowers us with His authority and His presence to carry the gospel to every generation, every culture, and every corner of the earth.
Notice what’s at the center: not just conversion, but discipleship. Jesus calls us to make disciples, not simply church attendees. That means walking with people, teaching them, baptizing them, and teaching them how to live the way of Christ.
And here’s the comfort: You’re not alone. Jesus ends His command with a promise—“I am with you always.” Wherever you go, whatever you face, He goes with you.
Whether you’re in full-time ministry or a quiet witness at your job, your calling is sacred. The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead now empowers you to live boldly and proclaim clearly: Jesus is alive, and He’s the hope of the world.
Reflection Points
1. What fears or hesitations have kept you from sharing your faith more boldly?
2. In what ways has the resurrection changed your purpose and perspective on life?
3. Who in your life needs to hear about the hope and power of the risen Christ?
Practical Applications
1. Pray for one person who needs Jesus today
Name them specifically and ask for an opportunity to show or share Christ’s love.
2. Look for a mission moment
Be intentional about one way to show or speak the gospel in your everyday routine (a conversation, a social post, or an act of kindness).
3. Re-read the Great Commission slowly and prayerfully
Ask God what your specific “go” looks like in this season of life.
