Day 19: Love
SCRIPTURE
John 14:15-17
DEVOTIONAL
As we love Jesus as our Savior, we also grow in our desire to obey His commands. This isn’t a picture of a toxic relationship, but one of trusting in the God who first loved, and still loves us. To say we love Jesus while ignoring His commands is to really to not love Him at all; it’s more like we are using Him to get what we want. Instead, we’ve been invited to love the One who loves us, obeying Him in faith that what He calls us to is what’s actually worth living for.
And the best part? Jesus promised that we don’t pursue this loving obedience on our own, but the Holy Spirit who dwells within us continues to lead and teach us, guiding us into the obedient life. Today, we have an opportunity to step toward the God who perfectly loves us, by lovingly obeying how He has called us to live.

Radiant Church Prayer Points
1. Pray that we would be a church who loves God not just in our words, but in how we live and minister to one another and the community around us.
2. Pray that we would not do this on our own, but would rely on the guiding and empowering of the Spirit within us.
