Day 1: The God Who Speaks

Before anything existed, God spoke. His word created light, life, order, beauty, and human beings made in His image. God’s voice is not weak, empty, or uncertain. What He says is true, and what He commands comes to pass.

Hebrews reminds us that God has spoken most fully through His Son, Jesus Christ, who upholds all things by the word of His power. This means our courage to speak does not begin with our personality, knowledge, or confidence in ourselves. It begins with the God who speaks, sustains, rules, and reveals truth.

False gods are silent. The gods of comfort, approval, fear, success, and control cannot save us, guide us, or speak life. But the living God speaks truth, and because He speaks, His people can speak with confidence.

When we are tempted to remain silent, we remember this: we belong to the God whose word created the world, reveals salvation, and sustains all things.

- Where have you been more shaped by the voice of comfort, approval, or fear than by the voice of God?

- What situation in your life currently requires you to trust what God has said?

- How does remembering that God speaks with authority change the way you think about speaking truth?

- Spend time today reading Genesis 1 slowly and noticing the power of God’s word.

- Identify one “false voice” that has been influencing your silence. Name it honestly before God.

- Pray for confidence rooted not in yourself, but in the God who speaks truth.
