Day 3: Embracing God's Purpose
God has uniquely designed you with purpose. Today's passages remind us that we are God's handiwork, created for good works that He prepared in advance for us to do. As you seek to build margin in your life, it's crucial to align your activities with God's purpose for you.
Take some time to prayerfully consider your life's themes and values. What has God consistently called you towards? What activities or services bring you a sense of fulfillment and alignment with God's will? On the flip side, what commitments or habits might be cluttering your life, distracting you from your true purpose?
Challenge yourself today to say "no" to one good thing that isn't necessarily a "God thing" for you. Use that freed-up time or energy to lean into an area where you feel God is calling you to focus. Remember, a life of purpose isn't about doing more—it's about doing what matters most to God.
Reflection Questions:
- What activities or commitments leave you feeling drained rather than fulfilled?
- How can you identify if something is a "God thing" rather than just a "good thing"?
- What potential distractions might be hindering you from living out God’s purpose for your life?
Application:
Make a list of your current commitments and evaluate them in light of your understanding of God’s purpose for you. Choose one that doesn't align and commit to letting it go in favor of devoting time and energy to what you believe God is calling you to.
