Day 5: Being a Witness Through Rest
As followers of Christ, we're called to be light in the world. Interestingly, one of the most powerful ways we can shine is through our rest and peace. In a world that's constantly stressed and hurried, a life marked by margin and purpose stands out.
Reflect on how your pace of life and sense of peace (or lack thereof) might be perceived by others. Are there ways your restlessness might be hindering your witness? Conversely, how might embracing God's rest make others curious about your faith?
Today, challenge yourself to be interruptible. Leave some margin in your schedule for divine appointments. When someone asks how you're doing, resist the urge to say "busy" and instead share a glimpse of the peace you're finding in Christ. Your restfulness can be a powerful testimony to God's sufficiency and care.
Remember, living with margin isn't about having an empty schedule—it's about having a full connection with God that overflows into every aspect of your life. Let your peace be a beacon that draws others to the source of true rest in Christ.
Reflection Questions:
- How does your current lifestyle reflect your trust in God’s provision and care?
- In what ways could your rest serve as a testimony to those around you?
- Have you ever had an opportunity to witness to others because of your approach to rest and peace? What was the result?
Application:
As you go about your day, be intentional about leaving some margin in your schedule for unexpected conversations or interactions. When asked about your life, share a short testimony of how Jesus is your source of peace, making you open to divine appointments.
