Day 2: Walking at God's Pace
In our fast-paced world, it's easy to fall into a rhythm of constant hurry. Yet God often speaks to us in stillness and quiet. Today's readings remind us of the power of slowing down and aligning ourselves with God's pace.
Reflect on areas of your life where you might be rushing ahead of God. Are there decisions you're trying to force or changes you're impatiently pursuing? Consider how you might "be still" in God's presence today. This doesn't mean inaction, but rather a purposeful pause to seek God's guidance and timing.
Try this exercise: Set a timer for 5 minutes. Sit in silence, focusing on your breath and God's presence. If your mind wanders to your to-do list, gently bring it back to God. This practice of stillness can help reset your internal pace to match God's rhythm for your life.
Reflection Questions:
- What areas of your life feel rushed or hurried right now?
- How does your current pace of life affect your relationship with God?
- What might you be missing out on by rushing ahead instead of waiting on God's timing?
Application:
Set aside a specific time today to practice stillness before God. Use the 5-minute silence exercise outlined in the devotional. Allow this practice to become a daily rhythm to help synchronize your pace with God's.
