Day 5: The Promise That Makes It All Worthwhile

The letter to Ephesus ends with a promise. “To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.”

Jesus does not call His people to remember, repent, return, and endure without hope. He lifts our eyes to the future that is secure for all who belong to Him. Revelation 22 gives us a picture of that future: the curse undone, God’s presence fully known, His people seeing His face, and life finally restored as it was always meant to be.

This promise matters for today. It reminds us that repentance is worth it. Dependence on the Spirit is worth it. Returning to our first love is worth it. Persevering through hardship is worth it. Refusing the bait of numbness is worth it.

The life Christ gives is not merely future life. It begins now and will be fully revealed when He makes all things new. Until that day, we live by faith, fixing our attention and affection on Jesus. We remember that the One who holds the churches in His hand also holds us in everlasting love.

Do not settle for numbness when eternal life with God is your inheritance. Do not settle for going through the motions when Christ Himself is yours.
