Day 4: Surrendering for Freedom
The story of Achan reminds us that holding onto things God has asked us to surrender only leads to bondage. True freedom comes through letting go. This paradox is at the heart of the Gospel - we gain our lives by losing them for Christ's sake.
Jesus promises that the truth will set us free. But embracing this freedom often requires us to release our grip on false sources of security, identity, or control. It means trusting that God's ways, even when they don't make sense to us, lead to abundant life.
Galatians reminds us that it is for freedom that Christ has set us free. We are no longer slaves to sin, fear, or the opinions of others. We are free to live fully surrendered to God, confident in His love and provision.
Reflect: What area of your life do you need to surrender more fully to God? What might it look like to step into the freedom Christ offers in this area?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I surrender my whole life to You. Help me to trust Your goodness even when it means letting go of things I want to control. Thank You for the true freedom found in Christ.
