Day 1: Joy in Our Salvation

Dec 29, 2025

Simeon waited his entire life for one moment: to see the Messiah. When he finally held baby Jesus, he was ready to die in peace. His joy wasn't found in accomplishments, relationships, or possessions, but in God's salvation. What if we lived each day with this same perspective? The greatest joys we experience such as successful careers, loving relationships, beautiful experiences, pale in comparison to the reality that God came to save us. Today, consider where you're placing your joy. Are you chasing temporary happiness, or are you rooted in the eternal joy of knowing Jesus has saved you? Let this truth transform how you approach every moment, every conversation, every decision. Your salvation is the bedrock of lasting joy.

Reflection Questions:

- What are some things in your life that currently bring you joy?

- How might you be placing your joy in temporary rather than eternal things?

- How could focusing on your salvation change your daily perspective and actions?

Application Points:

- Take a moment to thank God for the gift of salvation, and reflect on how this impacts your life.

- Identify one area in your life where you’re seeking joy apart from God and plan one practical step to shift your focus to eternal joy.

- Share the story of your salvation with someone this week to remind both yourself and others of God’s amazing gift.
