Day 5: Jesus, the Champion of Our Faith
We are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses—all those who have gone before us in faith. Their examples inspire us to strip off every weight and sin that slows us down and run with endurance the race God has set before us. But we do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. He endured the cross for the joy set before Him, and now He sits at God's right hand. Jesus is greater than all who came before—greater than the law, the greatest sacrifice, and the fulfillment of true faith. When life gets difficult, fix your eyes on Him. Let His example of faithful endurance through suffering strengthen your resolve. What specific sin or weight do you need to strip off today? Ask Jesus to help you run your race with perseverance, knowing He has already won the victory.
Reflection Questions:
- Who are the "great cloud of witnesses" in your life that inspire your faith journey?
- What sin or distraction is hindering you from running your race effectively?
Application Points:
- Identify and confess to God any weights or sins that are slowing you down. Then, make a plan to address them with His help.
- Focus your daily devotions this week on the life and teachings of Jesus, finding strength and guidance in His example.
