Day 1: The Path of Humility
As we begin this journey, we're called to examine our hearts and align them with Christ's example of humility. Paul's words to the Philippians paint a vivid picture of Jesus, who, despite His divine nature, chose the path of servanthood.
Reflect on the areas of your life where pride might be building walls - between you and God, or you and others. Are there places where you're clinging to status, control, or self-sufficiency? Jesus "made himself nothing" for our sake. How might you empty yourself today to make room for God's love and the needs of others?
Reflection Questions:
- What specific areas in your life reveal a tendency towards pride or self-sufficiency?
- How does Jesus’ example of making Himself "nothing" challenge your current mindset or actions?
Application: Choose one area of your life where pride has been evident and take a deliberate action to prioritize someone else’s needs over your own today. Practice active listening or serve without expecting anything in return.
