Day 1: Seeing Through God's Eyes

Aug 11, 2025

Today, we encounter the powerful story of the sinful woman who anointed Jesus' feet. As we read, let's focus on the stark contrast between Simon the Pharisee's disgust and Jesus' compassion. How often do we, like Simon, judge others based on outward appearances or past mistakes? Jesus saw beyond the woman's reputation to her heart full of love and faith. Today, ask God to help you see others as He does - with eyes of grace and compassion. Reflect on a time when you felt judged or misunderstood. How did it feel to experience God's grace in that moment? Challenge yourself to extend that same grace to someone you might typically avoid or judge.

Reflection Questions:

- Can you recall a time when you wrongly judged someone based on their outward appearance or past?

- How did it impact your relationship with them?

- How does recognizing your own need for grace make it easier to extend grace to others?

Application:

Identify someone in your life who you might be judging superficially. Make an intentional effort to learn more about their story this week, opening your heart to see them through God's eyes.
