Closing: Before You Close This

Five days ago you were asked to notice what you had let a wound become inside of you. That is still the question. Not whether you were hurt. You were. Not whether it was fair. It was not. The only question left is what you are going to let it turn into now that you have named it.

You cannot go back and choose whether it happened. You can choose what it becomes. Say this out loud, the same way Joseph could have said it, the same way it is true of you:

They meant it for evil. But God. The hurt was real. It will not become what lives in me.

The lease is up. Do not renew it.
