Day 1: God's Nearness in Our Anxiety
In times of anxiety, it's easy to feel alone and distant from God. Yet, Paul reminds us that "the Lord is near." Reflect on how Jesus entered our world, experiencing human emotions including anxiety, to draw near to us. Jesus in His humanity felt the weight of fear and worry, especially in the moments leading to the cross. How does knowing that God understands your struggles change your perspective? Today, practice acknowledging God's presence in moments of worry. When anxious thoughts arise, pause and whisper, "Lord, you are near." Let this truth be an anchor for your soul.
Reflection Questions:
- In what ways do you feel disconnected from God during times of anxiety?
- How can acknowledging God's nearness impact your response to anxiety?
Application:
As you go through your day, keep a small object, like a pebble or a bracelet, with you. Let it serve as a tangible reminder of God's constant presence. Every time you touch it, take a moment to breathe and acknowledge, "Lord, you are near."
