10 Reasons We Tithe

Understanding Biblical Tithing

Tithing isn’t about rules—it’s about relationship. At its core, biblical tithing means giving the first 10% of your income back to God as an act of trust, obedience, and worship. It’s a reminder that everything we have comes from Him and that He is our true source—not our job, not our bank account. Tithing isn’t about God needing our money—it’s about us needing to keep Him first. It teaches obedience, breaks greed, and invites God’s blessing into every area of our lives. It’s not about what we lose—it’s about what we gain when we put God first.

When it comes to tithing, Biblical stewardship say that we are making decisions about God's money because we belong to him. Which means tithing is not us giving God 10% of our money. Tithing is God letting me keep 90% of His.
